QuikCalib is developed by SnapTech Ventures LLP ("we", "us", "our"). QuikCalib is a scale-calibration tool used by officers/technicians to calibrate physical QuikWeight scales and keep a compliance record of that work. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and how it's protected.
Information we collect
When an officer signs in and registers to use QuikCalib, we collect:
- Google account info — your name and email address, via Google Sign-In (Firebase Authentication). We never see or store your Google password.
- Registration details — the name, phone number, and license number you enter, plus a photo of your license/ID card, submitted for admin approval before you can use the app.
- A selfie at registration — a live photo taken with the front camera during registration, alongside your license photo, so an admin reviewing your registration can confirm you are the person named on the license. Unlike the calibration face photo below, this selfie is kept for as long as your account exists, not on a 2-year timer - it is deleted only if an admin removes your access.
- A face photo at the start of each calibration — a live photo taken with the front camera when you tap "Start calibration," attached to that calibration's record. This exists so a completed calibration can be tied to the specific officer who performed it.
- Calibration records — which scale (its Bluetooth address), when, and whether the calibration succeeded or failed.
Where this data is stored
All of the above is stored in Google Firestore, a cloud database, protected by security rules. Your registration details (name, phone number, license number, license photo, and registration selfie) can only be read by you and your organization's approved admins - never by other officers. Calibration records (which scale, when, the outcome, and which officer performed it) can be read by any approved officer, not only the one who performed that calibration, so a scale's calibration history can be verified by anyone authorized to use the app - for example, if a scale's calibration record needs to be checked in a compliance or legal matter. A separate, password/Google-account-gated admin panel lets an authorized company admin review pending officer registrations (including the license photo and registration selfie) to approve or reject them. No one outside your organization's approved officers and admins can see this data, and it is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for tracking.
Permissions the app requests, and why
- Camera — to capture your license photo and selfie at registration, and your face photo at the start of each calibration, as described above.
- Bluetooth (Nearby devices) — to connect to the physical QuikWeight scale being calibrated.
- Location — required by Android on some OS versions in order to scan for Bluetooth devices. QuikCalib does not access, use, or store your device's actual geographic location.
Data retention
Photos attached to a calibration record (the face-capture thumbnail) are automatically cleared from storage roughly two years after the calibration date. The rest of that record (date, scale, outcome) is kept as part of the compliance history. Your officer registration (name, phone, license number, license photo, and registration selfie) is kept until an admin removes your access - the registration selfie is not on the 2-year timer that applies to calibration photos.
Your choices
You can stop using the app and sign out at any time. To request that your registration data be deleted entirely, contact us using the details below.
Children's privacy
QuikCalib is a workforce compliance tool for scale-calibration technicians and is not directed at or intended for use by children.
